Obviously the first option is free, but it takes a very long time and a lot of hours before you can even begin to understand on page and off page search engine optimization.
In addition to this, you must be on the cutting edge 24-7 as SEO is changing all of the time.
With Marketing, all you have to do is offer great value, a USP ( Unique Sales Proposition ) and be friendly to your prospects and clients. Believe me this is much easier said than done.
Most business owners do not know what their USP is...Do you have a USP?
Option two is to hire a specialist, one you feel you can trust, and one who is going to be working very closely with you to get to know your business, the strengths and weaknesses of it.
By now you should have the image in your mind, that if you are going to pay someone to help you with your business, they had better get the phone ringin' and the door swingin'.
Many SEO business will make promises like "get your site ranked for 6 keywords for $xxx".
I can't stress enough that this business model is a "do very little to nothing and get paid" plan and is of little to no value to a business owner.
